Calm, mellow and aromatic, Shirakawa (White River) is an inviting fragrance with the gentle sweetness of fine sandalwood. Soft and comforting, it fills your space with a sense of warmth and tranquillity, leaving behind a delicate, lingering scent.
Elegantly shaped into a coil, this incense burns slowly and evenly over an extended period. As the glowing tip follows its gentle circular path, a delicate trail of smoke unfolds, creating a quiet, meditative atmosphere. Coil incense is particularly suited to well-ventilated spaces, such as entryways, where its long-lasting fragrance can be enjoyed over time.
Named after the picturesque river that meanders through Kyoto’s historic Gion District, Shirakawa is a beautiful choice for those who appreciate the soft, mellow fragrance of sandalwood.
Horin, meaning “fragrant ring,” is Shoyeido’s collection of refined incense blends, offering a pleasant and long-lasting way to bring fragrance into your everyday surroundings. Each blend takes inspiration from a particular period or place in Japan’s rich history.
Coil burning time: approximately 2 hours and 20 min.
Comes with a clay incense holder, "Utena Kaku-gata" (square-shaped), allowing immediate use without a incense holder. Use a non-combustible tray underneath for the ash catcher.
