With a spiritual inspiration, these oval wooden boxes are beautifully handcrafted by Japanese craftsman & designer Masashi Ifuji.
Ifuji specializes in creating simple but functional wooden objects, utilizing traditional techniques and minimal forms. Based out of Matsumoto, Nagano, Ifuji is best known for his clean and precise design approach allowing users to appreciate the moments of stillness found in daily life; offering a small piece of calm retreat amid our busy day to day.
Using time-honoured methods of 18th century colonial American Shaker communities, the deep rooted form-meets-function philosophy of these Oval Boxes results in an essential object for everyday living.
Excellent for storing sewing supplies, dried goods or the old letters, etc… this oval box will become a beautiful vessel for home or office, allowing you to store treasured essential items thoughtfully.
This "carrier" style has a long handle which makes it easy to carry wherever you go. Suitable for carrying light items or storing items that are frequently taken in and out. It is also great for storing tea utensils, sweets/fruits on the table, balls of yarn for knitting, bouquets of fresh or dried flowers.
*Because it uses natural materials, each grain shows a different look. In some cases, the grain may express a strong individuality.
