Chopsticks are remarkably simple tools, just two slender sticks, yet their understated form embodies both elegance and functionality.
Crafted from durable wood and finished with traditional Japanese lacquer, these chopsticks are made for everyday use. The lacquered finish is resistant to discoloration and easy to care for, while their exceptionally light weight and finely tapered tips offer remarkable precision. Beautifully balanced and effortless to hold, they make it easy to pick up everything from delicate tofu and slippery tomatoes to small fish bones.
Each pair is handmade by Ichihara Heibei Shoten, a renowned Kyoto chopstick maker founded in 1764. Originally appointed as the official supplier of chopsticks to the Imperial Court, the company has been dedicated exclusively to the art of chopstick making for over 260 years. Every design reflects generations of craftsmanship, with careful attention to material selection, balance, and comfort, creating chopsticks that elevate the everyday dining experience.
