Made of thin bamboo called kanchiku, this basket is beautifully handcrafted by skilled craftsmen in Tochigi prefecture, Japan.
This style has a tall round handle, which makes it easy to carry with your hand anywhere. A perfect size for storing fruit, small vegetables, bread or flowers. Also recommended for storing your hobby items such as knitting tools (yarns) or fabrics, etc.
Kanchiku bamboo's stems are distinctively purple, but you can also enjoy the gradual changes that occur over time as they turn green or deep brown (as shown in the photo as an example).
