Created by Japanese katazome (stencil-dyeing) artist Koichi Odanaka, the Teshigoto Calendar features twelve designs inspired by seasonal landscapes and the beauty of Japanese handicrafts. Originally hand-dyed on traditional handmade washi paper, each design is reproduced in a smaller format for this charming desktop calendar.
With its gentle, vibrant colours and simple, warm-hearted designs, the calendar reflects Odanaka’s distinctive approach to traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
Teshigoto is the Japanese word for handicrafts. Through this calendar, Odanaka hopes to bring the joy and beauty of Japanese handwork into everyday life, inviting us to slow down and appreciate the small things that make each day special.

Koichi Odanaka
Born in Iwate Prefecture in 1950, Odanaka is a katazome (stencil-dyeing) artist who trained under renowned dye artist Keisuke Serizawa. He continues to explore and practice this traditional craft at his family’s workshop. Since 2009, he has created the Japanese Handcraft Calendar and has been a member of the Crafts Division of the Kokugakai, a Japanese art association.
