Happy New Year!

Thank you for all your visits and support this past year. 2023 wasn’t our easiest 12 months, that’s for sure. But our dear ITSUMO friends—and our wonderful store team—you are always there when we need you most! We’re grateful to all of you. Thank you!! 

Last year offered many challenges for our tiny small team at ITSUMO, some expected, many not. Looking back, we managed through some difficult times, but thanks to the ups and downs, we learned so much together. We feel fortunate to be able to grow stronger as a team, keeping ITSUMO spirits pure!

Our concept space ENISHI opened its doors to many wonderful opportunities & encounters with our community. In May, “Ichigo Ichie” was our first event focused on a curated selection of Japanese antique/vintage items & curiosities. August’s ITSUMO Staff Family Market was so much fun, enabling a fresh spontaneity to our shop energy. October kicked off the much anticipated collaboration with Niigata’s Tsubamesanjo Arts & Craft community, our “Made in Tsubamesanjo” event delivered an expanded appreciation for Japanese traditional craftsmanship, along with a fantastic workshop provided by Japanese craft masters. 

2023 concluded with the launch of our fresh web shop, ITSUMO.ca. This has been a long journey reconsidering & reconnecting our online presence. A daunting process made fun, informative & problem free by our web development team, Lori Kiessling & Chris Harris, who did an incredible job not only intuiting our aesthetic vision, but more importantly, delivering a far more efficient & non obstructive browsing experience for our online customers. 

In 2024, we aim to take on fresh challenges, and plan to share exciting news & experiences with you soon.
We hope this year brings our world, and ALL of its diverse communities, increased peace and stability.
