Curious charm of the impractical

2024.04.13 Sat - 04.28 Sun

Please join us for an exclusive viewing of ceramic art works by Mao Eto. It opens from April 13th Saturday to April 28th Sunday, 2024.

We are excited to invite you to a very special art collection by ceramic artist Mao Eto for a limited time. Born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Mao majored in ceramic art at Tama Art University in Japan. She exercises the medium of form and function while exploring spiritual possibilities beyond.

"Although they may seem to have no practical purposes in our daily lives, I'm inspired by objects that spark a curious charm". - Mao

Titled “buoy (up)”, this show focuses on her ceramic works with the motifs of buoys drifting in water. Simple and small, each is carefully handcrafted in the hope that they will come close to one’s heart, becoming a kind of talisman. She wishes her creation to have the positive energy that would gently lift your spirits up.

Hope you can visit us and discover something inspiring if you are in Vancouver. We look forward to sharing the experience together at ITSUMO.
