This is a charming wooden Kokeshi doll. It has an absolutely adorable face with the camellia flower pattern painted in red.
What is Kokeshi?
Originally from the Tohoku region in northern Japan, kokeshi dolls are handmade from wood. With their characteristic graphic markings, sculptural silhouettes and mysterious expressions, Kokeshi are Japanese cultural icons that have found their way into many hearts and homes.
Each unique kokeshi has been thoughtfully hand selected by us.
Excellent vintage condition. This Kokeshi has lived for many years in Japan and built the gentle patina over time. Please expect some minor surface marks or fading, and see the photos for a clear indication of condition.
