Using only the strong and supple bamboo and cherry (Sakura) wood barks, these baskets are beautifully handwoven one-by-one by skilled artisans in Miyagi prefecture, Japan.
“Kuzu” meaning litter, trash, waste in Japanese, the original function of this basket is a wastebasket, yet, it is far too nice to use only as a waste bin. Its natural and stunning appearance allows it to be used for many other purposes at home.
For use in the kitchen, it can be a handy basket to store freshly harvested fruits and vegetables. In a living room, use it to store books and magazines, slippers and blanket, plant pots, etc. Or even simply as it’s intended purpose, a wastebasket for your home office or the seasonal garden works.
Bamboo baskets are great everyday tools and they deliver a quaint charm from simpler times that can still easily fit into modern homes and lifestyles.
