A compact desktop size calendar with the beautiful selection of images for every month of 2024. Using the iconic design of Keisuke Serizawa, who was a National Living Treasure (Important Intangible Cultural Property) of “katazome” art (stencil dyeing) with the bold compositions of traditional patterns, this calendar expresses four seasons of Japan vividly. It brightens up any desk settings and comes with a clear plastic case which functions as a stand.
Manufactured with the same materials and techniques as in the early days, this is a reprint of the original stencil dyed calendar that has been produced continuously for about 40 years since 1945. Serizawa mastered his own unique katazome style creating patterns and an excellent sense of colour tones by researching ancient Japanese stencil dyeing and Ryukyu bingata dyeing techniques. The 2024 calendar is a reprint of the 1950 (Showa 25) calendar. The characteristics of each month are beautifully designed, we hope you enjoy adding a touch of gentle atmosphere with the Serizawa’s art in your home.
