ReIRABO is a reinterpretation of “irabo” glaze, an ancient glazing method often still found in traditional pottery such as Japanese matcha bowls or handworks by skilled potters. The uneven texture of glaze is the beauty of irabo, and it is celebrated as a unique character making every piece one of a kind. This technique is usually challenging to stabilize and handle for use in microwave ovens and dishwashers, however, after repeated testing, Yumiko Iihoshi has adapted her own original irabo glaze and developed a selection of modern tableware that pushes the boundaries between a handmade product and machine-produced. Every shape and size are well designed and considered for easy-to-use and fun to serve Japanese foods and many other dishes for your own dining set-ups.  

This large round plate is available in two sizes. Easy to match with any recipes of Japanese, Western and Chinese styles.  Just right for everyday use, it is the perfect size for curry, pasta or any main dishes. The high rim gives a nice depth to easily fill with sauce, salad dressing, syrup, etc., assisting in a joyful experience till the last bite.
