Postalco Card & Coin Wallet – Navy
8 x 11 cm / 3.2 x 4.3″
Pressed Cotton Fabric & Leather
Made in Japan
A compact wallet that expands to carry cards, bills and coins. The cash pocket fits bills such as $, ¥ and £ bills, and the coin pocket can also change to carry extra cards.
For durability, the smooth surface cowhide is used on the outside with pressed cotton pockets inside. The leather is tanned using vegetable tannins from the mimosa tree. Vegetable tanning takes more time but does not use the toxic compounds needed for chrome tanned leather.
Postalco works with traditional Japanese skills and methods to produce bags, wallets, fine stationery, and accessories.
About Pressed Cotton Fabric
This fabric is made with the same machines that were used to make tent fabric. The base color of the white threads will become more apparent and it will soften with use.
To keep the natural feeling of the material, the surface is not waterproof coated. Instead, there is a light water resistant treatment. Cotton is a natural material so slubs and irregularity in the fibers are part of its character. It is possible for wrinkles to appear as well.
If your item gets wet, pat dry with a soft cloth to absorb any liquid. With strong rubbing the color may come off leaving light spots. Please shade dry in a well ventilated area. If placed near air conditioners or heaters the item may warp.
With use the shine will mellow and surface scratches picked up along the way will get worked in. The color will also deepen with use.

Born out of a passion for the beauty of everyday objects, Postalco found its start in Brooklyn, New York, making notebooks and document holders. Since moving their base of operations to Tokyo 20 years ago, the line has expanded to include wallets, pens, bags and other items. Combining utility and functionality with understated beauty, Postalco effectively improves our relationships with these objects by inviting us to see them as “collaborators” in our lives instead of as throwaway items.
With a solid dedication to finding new ways to apply Japanese craft to daily life, Postalco creates items that are meant to be used by all walks of life – young and old, male or female – a practice that results in building more meaningful interactions with others and with our surroundings.
