Set of four types of high-grade incense sticks made from rare fragrant trees. This luxurious incense is produced only in limited areas.
Comes with a brass incense holder that imitates the Kungyokudo’s logo, the assortment makes a wonderful gift. Contains 9 sticks of each type, 36 sticks in total.
Kouboku Shikoh Set includes;
- Tenjo Kyara Agarwood: a deep and woody fragrance made from the rare and fragrant Kyara tree in Vietnam.
- Shamu Agarwood: a subtly sweet and complex fragrance made from Vietnamese spiritual agarwood, reminiscent of the abundant grace of the earth.
- Tani Agarwood: a graceful and refined fragrance that offers a calm aroma blended with the subtle yet spicy fragrance of Indonesian agarwood.
- Rozan Sandalwood: a woody and sweet fragrance made from the highest quality Indian sandalwood. Creates a deep and majestic scent that feels refreshing in spring and summer, and brings warmth to fall and winter.

In the third year of Bunroku era (1594), Kungyokudo, a long-established incense company, opened in front of Nishi Honganji temple and they served as an apothecary.
From that time, they have been serving many head temples of each school of Buddhism across Japan.
With more than 420 years history of heritage, Kungyokudo is Japan’s oldest incense supplier which has been making the scent for ceremonies and everyday life of each era.
While keeping the tradition and the unique skills of blending natural fragrances and medicinal plants nurtured over a long period of time, they create gentle scents and experience for the present lifestyle.
