In this book, photographer Wakana Baba captures the beautiful and powerful moments of daily life. With photos and essays centered around people and food, the author celebrates the simple everyday act of making and eating rice, along with the common connection that act can bring. She asked her subjects to “make the usual food” in their own kitchen settings, and then photographed their facial expressions. Included are the recipes made by each subject during their interview.

Photographer. She graduated from Nihon University College of Art, Department of Photography. She mainly shoots for magazines and books around her life. Her favourite subjects are people and cooking.
