Harimi Dustpan – Red
Made in Japan
Unlike dustpans made from plastic material, Harimi Dustpan is made with layers of sturdy Japanese paper, Washi.
Lightweight, thin, and flexible.
The red colour comes from Kakishibu, a natural dye made from the fermented juice of unripe persimmons. More than a coloring agent, Kakishibu also has strengthening, antibacterial and waterproofing properties.
In Japan, it was used as a wood preservative, waterproofer, insect repellent, folk medicine, and on washi (Japanese paper), textiles and in sake production.
As it is made with natural materials, it does not cause static electricity. Small dust easily comes off without sticking to the surface.
