Azmaya Wine Glass
Made in Japan
⌀ 8.6 x H 11cm (210ml)
Designed by Osamu Saruyama, and produced by a glass studio Fresco, the Azmaya wine glass is handmade one by one, without using a mold. The hand blowing technique used requires a highly skilled craftsperson breathing in and shaping the glass completely by hand. The glass material that melts through the scorching flame captures the breath of a person and takes shape. As a result, each piece is unique and individual, while still adhering to a standard size as much as possible. The glass, which is the fruit of that momentary miracle, has a personality and a warm expression that machines cannot imitate. The elegantly shaped stem provides a stunning detail to hold in your hand, and the precisely thin edge feels smooth to touch, allowing for you to taste the full flavour of drink. A wide variety of drinks and desserts can also be beautifully presented with this wine glass for special occasions.
The beauty of glass lies in its transparency. The extremely subtle horizontal lines on the surface occurred at the finishing stage of molding are almost invisible, however, the unique beauty of hand-blown glass become apparent when the light hits on it, creating the most amazing shadow. The experience of this thin glass will enhance flavours of wine, champagne and many other special beverage.
Please note that due to its handcrafted quality you will find slight differences in size and balance.
