Entirely made from Sansho (Japanese green pepper tree) wood from the Aritagawa region of Wakayama Prefecture in Japan, this wooden pestle is created as the perfect companion tool to the Iga Suribachi Mortar.
Beautifully finished to showcase the natural elements of the original character of Sansho trees, the hard wood is resistant to wear and is designed to fit comfortably in your hand. Together with the ceramic mortar, use it to grind many types of seeds, sesame, beans, miso, tofu and many other herbs and spices. Enjoy the rich and satisfying flavours that will result from your home cooking.
