Handcrafted in Nagano prefecture, only using the sustainable Japanese Cypress (Hinoki) wood grown in Japan, this is a traditional Japanese bath stool in a stunningly elegant form.
With a refreshing scent, Hinoki is naturally antibacterial and its resins make it resistant to mould and mildew making it ideal for use in wet or damp spaces. These low stools are traditionally used in Japanese baths (which commonly have a washing area separate from a tub) as a seat when washing before entering the tub. The compact size and the beautiful minimum design fit nicely in any settings of home and can also be used as a small stool by a low coffee table in a living room for example.
A set of Hinoki bath accessories will enhance a simple bath time with mindfulness.
*Please do not stand on the stool in a bathroom.
Hinoki wood (Japanese Cypress) is a soft wood that can susceptible to indentation, but as it repeats expansion and contraction as it absorbs moisture and dries, these indentations often naturally repair with continued use.
Please avoid leaving it in water for a long time or in excessive direct sunlight as it may cause cracks due to warping or shrinkage.
Hinoki is naturally antibacterial and has a refreshing scent. Its natural resins make it resistant to mould and mildew, and ideal for use in wet or damp spaces.
After every use, it is recommended to rinse off water well and wipe off moisture with a dry cloth. If mould starts growing, please scrape with a Tawashi scrub brush or sandpaper.
The product’s life span differs depending on usage environment and frequency of use, but please stop using if the stool starts to wobble or feel unsteady, and contact us for repair.
*Please do not stand on the stool in a bathroom.
