Made of 100% Shiga flax (linen), Azabu Linen is a beautiful hand towel with excellent water absorption.

Woven from a shuttle loom that produces beautiful fabrics at the expense of speed, these cloths are produced by “Hayashiyo”, a long-established linen and hemp fabric manufacturer in Shiga Prefecture. Founded in the 30th year of the Meiji era, Hayashiyo is a rare textile maker in the world that can produce hundreds of colors and patterns by weaving from standard materials to the world’s highest class, from ultra-thick to ultra-fine counts. Their shuttle loom is over 50 years old. It uses a slow process and Azabu Linen is woven at a high density of 1 to 2 meters per hour. The attractive characteristic of the fabric woven by this shuttle loom is that the fabric maintains the hand-woven quality and has a wonderfully soft texture and timeless appearance. 

This cloth is freshly woven and left unwashed. Please wash with hot water (around 50℃) before use. Some fabric fluffs on the surface may fall off at the beginning of use, but it will settle down after repeated washing. It feels hard and crisp at the beginning of use, but it gradually becomes softer and more supple over time with as every use & wash.
